Expansion
With the help of Tejashwi Yadav or his excuse, Congress’s boat also crossed the shore in Bihar. In the Lok Sabha elections 2019, out of 40 seats in Bihar, 39 MPs of National Democratic Alliance were elected. Congress got only one seat and that too because of the Muslim majority population. This time an Indy Alliance was formed, but it was not effective in Bihar. This time there were even fewer parties than the number of parties in the Mahagathbandhan. No party like Aam Aadmi Party, Shiv Sena contested the elections here in the name of Indy Alliance. Meaning, only the Mahagathbandhan contested the elections here. Tejashwi Yadav, son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of the Mahagathbandhan, took charge of Bihar this time. For about a month, he kept going to meetings on a wheelchair. Kept telling his point. Kept explaining to the people. And, today this result is out. With this victory, Tejashwi Yadav has also ended the reason for teasing himself.
A party without MPs… now BJP leaders will not be able to say
Whenever Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav used to talk about the country or attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party used to specifically say that the party which does not have a single MP, its words are of no importance. RJD suffered the brunt of not having a single MP even in the Rajya Sabha elections, but Tejashwi was more hurt by the taunts being made on it. Now that taunt has gone away. Tejashwi can now proudly not only count the names of his party MPs, but can also give a logical account of the contribution of his voters in making Congress MPs. Tejashwi in a way played the role of the sole commander of the Mahagathbandhan throughout the election. Congress’s number one leader Rahul Gandhi came to campaign on selected seats of Congress, but Tejashwi did not look at Congress or the seats of the Left parties, he kept going out for campaigning with an open heart and despite all the hardships for all these along with his party. During this time, he also gave an issue to BJP with the party of fish and cake, but it did not cause any harm.
Nitish gave Tejashwi a chance to emerge every time
Whether Lalu Prasad Yadav or Tejashwi Yadav accept it or not, but it was Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who gave his nephew a chance to emerge every time. Tejashwi emerged well from the 2017 episode and now from the 2024 episode. Whenever Nitish was in the Mahagathbandhan, Tejashwi became more powerful or wiser as soon as he left it. If we look at this time, even if the leaders of Janata Dal United and the government documents of Bihar believe that employment or any scheme came from the policy decisions of the Chief Minister, Tejashwi Yadav was more successful in telling the public that it happened because of him. The feeling that Tejashwi aroused among the voters by claiming the work of the Mahagathbandhan government before 28 January 2024 as his own, the same came out of the EVM in the form of the result.
